Pharmacy Compare has no advertising, no affiliate links, no sponsored listings and no paid placements of any kind. There is no premium tier, no “featured” flag, no way for a pharmacy to buy visibility — and no way for one to buy a competitor’s removal.
- No ads
- No affiliate links
- No paid listings
- No data sales
Why we’re telling you this
Most directories that look free make money somewhere: ads, affiliate commissions, sponsored placements, or selling listings and data. When that’s the case, it shapes the product whether or not the people running it want it to. You deserve to know whether this site has those pressures. It doesn’t, because there’s no revenue for them to act on.
What that means in practice
- Listings exist on merit. A pharmacy is in the directory because the official NHS list says it holds an active contract. Nothing else gets it in, and nothing buys it out.
- Ordering isn’t for sale. Where results are ordered, pharmacies with fully checked details come first, then alphabetically or by distance — never by payment.
- No one pays for removal. A factual correction gets made; a commercial request doesn’t.
- Your data isn’t the product. We don’t sell search data, listings data or user information to anyone. See our privacy policy for what little we do collect.
What the site costs
Hosting, the data work, and the research time behind each town page. The founder covers these costs personally and accepts that it’s a loss-making project. If that ever changes — if we ever need to introduce a revenue model — this page is where it gets announced first, before anything goes live.
The one thing we’d ask
If you run a pharmacy and something about your listing is wrong, we genuinely want to fix it — that’s what the correction process in our editorial policy is for. It costs nothing and it’s the only route to getting a change made, for us and for everyone. You can use the correction form or email info@pharmacycompare.uk.
