Location search

Pharmacy Compare only asks for your device location after you choose Use my location. You can continue to use postcode or town search without sharing location.

When you use nearby search, your browser stores the search coordinates temporarily for the current browser session so that distance information can be shown as you move between pharmacy pages. The site also sends an approximately rounded location to Postcodes.io to identify nearby postcode areas, and sends pharmacy postcodes to that service to obtain coordinates used for distance calculations. Pharmacy Compare does not intentionally store your device location in a server-side user account or profile.

Your browser controls whether location permission is granted. You can deny or revoke that permission at any time in your browser settings. Requests made to external services are also subject to those services' own privacy practices.

Cookies and browser storage

This site may use essential browser storage needed to operate features such as nearby search, plus optional analytics cookies if analytics are enabled. Nearby-search coordinates are stored in session storage and are normally cleared when the browser session ends. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings.
